NEW ORLEANS – Nine members of the Shippensburg University women's track & field program were selected to the 2011 Division II All-Academic Track & Field team. A total of 311 student-athletes representing 80 institutions compose the group.
Shippensburg's total is the second most in the conference behind Slippery Rock and ties for the third-largest total in Division II with Ashland, Southern Connecticut State and Western State.
The nine ladies that earned All-Academic designation are as follows: junior
Lindsay Bingaman, sophomore
Megan Breski, senior
Emily Dubs, senior
Laura Henzy, senior
Erica Hess, senior
Abby Huber, junior
Amanda Raudabaugh, junior
Neely Spence and sophomore
Katie Spratford.
To qualify for the individual All-Academic recognition, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met either the NCAA Division II Indoor or Outdoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard in their respective event.
UPDATE: Shippensburg was also designated a 2011 Division II All-Academic Track & Field Team by the USTFCCCA. SU was one of 12 squads from the PSAC to earn All-Academic Team status with a 3.0 or better team GPA.
