SALEM, Va. – The Shippensburg University softball team split a pair of games Saturday at the West Virginia Wesleyan Invitational in Salem, dropping a 4-2 decision to Glenville State before rebounding at night with a 12-3 victory over West Liberty.
Shippensburg (14-7) got the bats working once again in the nightcap, with senior
Courtney Steele delivering multiple hits and senior
Hope Cornell smacking a home run. Junior
Emily Parkins threw shutout innings in relief of senior starter
Dana Ward.
SU allowed three unearned runs in its 4-2 loss to Glenville State, with junior
Chelsea Kendall sustaining the tough-luck loss.
On Sunday, Shippensburg will face Charleston (W.Va.) at 11 a.m.
