INDIANA, Pa. – Freshman
Bennett Widlake scored a career-high four goals off the bench on a chilly Tuesday afternoon but the Shippensburg University women's lacrosse team opened its conference schedule with a 19-9 loss at Indiana (Pa.).
Shippensburg (1-2, 0-1 PSAC) out-shot the Crimson Hawks 33-25 but IUP goalkeeper Kaitlin Sterling made 12 saves for the win. SU only won 10 of the 30 contested draw controls.

Jessica Schubach had a strong game; scoring twice, picking up three groundballs and recording four caused turnovers. Senior

Ali Cross also scored goals for the Raiders in the loss.
Indiana (2-1, 1-0 PSAC) got four goals and four assists from Becca Vogt. Alexa Lodovici and Stephanie Bianco also scored four goals each for the Crimson Hawks.
On Sunday, Shippensburg will finish the three-game series with a 1 p.m. game at Wingate.
