SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg men's basketball team had five players finish in double figures on Wednesday evening from Heiges Field House but the visitors matched the feat; as Bloomsburg was extremely efficient from the floor en route to a 94-81 victory over the Red Raiders.
Shippensburg (8-13, 3-6 PSAC East) got a game-high 17 points from junior
Craig Van Scyoc, who also contributed five assists and grabbed three offensive rebounds. Junior
Jordan Stasyszyn finished with 13 points – 11 of which came in the first half.
For the second straight game, junior forward
Will Royal finished with a double-double. Royal had 10 points and 10 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the year and the 10th of his career.
Sophomore
Will Kirkland was perfect from the floor, finishing with 10 points and four rebounds. Freshman
Dylan Edgar was the fifth SU player in double figures with 10 points, while senior
Justin Minter delivered eight points and four assists off the bench.
Bloomsburg (9-12, 5-4 PSAC East) moved into sole possession of third place in the division with its victory and losses on Wednesday night by East Stroudsburg and Millersville. The Huskies shot 60 percent or better from the field in both halves of play and had all five of their starters finish in double figures.
Shippensburg will host Cheyney at 3 p.m. on Saturday from Heiges Field House. The Red Raiders will hold their annual alumni game following the contest.
