CALIFORNIA, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's soccer team held close with No. 16 California (Pa.) for over 70 minutes on Saturday evening before a Vulcan goal broke a scoreless tie and proved the difference maker in a 1-0 regular season finale loss for the Raiders.
Shippensburg (9-5-2, 3-4-2 PSAC) held a slight edge in shots (12-11) and corner kicks (7-6). Junior
Andrew Foran made four saves in the contest, as each one came prior to the Vulcans' game-winner at the 71:55 mark.

Austin Hill had a game-high four shots, while redshirt freshman
Sam Talbot added three.
The Raiders are currently ranked fourth in the Division II Atlantic region, as the top four teams in each of Division II's eight regions will qualify for the 2011 Division II men's soccer tournament.
SU must wait until the selection show on Nov. 7 to find out if it its 2011 season will be extended into the postseason, as the final rankings will be revealed at 7 p.m.
