CLARION, Pa. – Senior
Joe Keefe and freshman
Jeff Mikitka were among the event winners for the Shippensburg University men's swimming team on Friday night in a dual meet at Clarion that was won by the Golden Eagles.
Mikitka won the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:05.36 – an improvement of more than three seconds from his previous effort of the season against Fairmont State (2:08.78). Just behind Mikitka was junior
Eric Naylor, who placed second in 2:05.66.
Keefe won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:03.98 that was just about a second off from the PSAC qualifying standard. Junior
Sean Minford just missed the PSAC qualifying standard in the 200-yard breaststroke, posting a time of 2:16.67.
Freshman
Brennan Wolter placed second in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:30.28 and sophomore
Ryan Westley finished second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:50.48.
Shippensburg will swim at 12 p.m. tomorrow in a dual meet from Edinboro.
