SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The No. 3-ranked Raiders field hockey team downed No. 2 West Chester, 2-0, on the road Saturday afternoon behind seven saves from junior keeper
Ciarra Delost and first-half goals by senior
Kristina Taylor and sophomore
Bre White.
Just under eight minutes into the contest, Taylor got Shippensburg (10-2, 4-0 PSAC West) on the board off of an assist by sophomore
Katie Shoop. White added the second goal of the day 12 minutes later, assisted again from Shoop. Taylor and White have scored SU's last six goals on the season.
Delost was solid in the cage, making seven saves off of 10 shots by the Golden Rams (8-2, 3-1 PSAC East). West Chester led Shippensburg in penalty corners, 10-6, but the Raiders finished with a 13-10 advantage in shots.
SU resumes PSAC West play Wednesday at 4 p.m. vs. Seton Hill from Robb Sports Complex.
