LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Senior Alison Dowdrick and sophomore Katie Leverentz each scored their third goals of the season on a muggy Friday afternoon from Hubert Jack Stadium as the Shippensburg University women's soccer team maintained its success in PSAC play with a 2-1 road victory over Lock Haven.

Shippensburg (5-1-1, 3-1 PSAC) built a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute and maintained its advantage for the duration of the contest. Senior Ashleigh Dunlap sent a long through ball onto the foot of Dowdrick, whose shot went into the net off the near post. Senior Megan Delio made one save in the opening 45 minutes and picked up her second victory of the season.

In the 58th minute, Leverentz finished off a long run with a shot off the far post into the cage. It was the second game-winning goal of the season for Leverentz, who currently leads the Lady Raiders with nine points.

Lock Haven (3-4, 1-4 PSAC) picked up its pressure during the second half and got within a goal during the 65th minute. Freshman Shelbie Rackley charged from the cage to play a shot but Lady Eagle forward Madison Taylor was able to convert the opportunity into her team-leading seventh goal of the season. Rackley made three saves in the second half.

The Lady Raiders return to action at 2 p.m. tomorrow from Slippery Rock.
