Two-Goal Second Half Keys Women’s Soccer to 3-2 Comeback Victory at IUP

INDIANA, Pa. – Second-half goals on Saturday afternoon by sophomores Jen Bon and Katie Leverentz helped the Shippensburg women's soccer team reduce a halftime deficit and earn a crucial road victory by defeating Indiana (Pa.) 3-2 in its 2010 PSAC opener from South Campus Field.

Shippensburg (2-0-1) fell behind in the third minute but tied the score in the 19th minute with the first goal of the season by junior Cassie Armold, who finished a cross from sophomore Molly Sanders during a corner kick opportunity.

Trailing 2-1 in the second half, Bon scored her first collegiate goal off a free kick in the 60th minute. In the 75th minute, Leverentz netted her second goal of the season and second-game winner.

Freshman goalkeeper Shelbie Rackley was firm in goal during the second half, making six saves to ultimately earn the victory. Senior Megan Delio made six saves while in goal during the first half.

Shippensburg continues its PSAC road swing at 3 p.m. Wednesday from Mercyhurst.
