INDIANAPOLIS – Shippensburg senior guard Sheila Wasser was recognized with an NCAA Division II Degree Completion Award after a national committee selected her on the basis of academic performance, athletic achievement and involvement in campus and community activities.

The Division II Degree-Completion Award program helps student-athletes who have exhausted their athletic eligibility with tuition to complete their undergraduate degree. This fall, Wasser will be completing her degree in elementary education while seeking a minor in coaching.

Wasser served as a guard on the Lady Raider basketball team through four years and increased her playing time with each successive season. She thrived as a senior, making 18 starts while appearing in 28 games. In 2009-10 she ranked fourth on the team in minutes, points and three-pointers.

Through her four years as a Lady Raider, Wasser appeared in 82 games, scored 199 points and recorded 74 assists.
