MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Junior Katie Brewer became just the second player in the last four years to score seven goals in a game on the road Tuesday afternoon from Chryst Field as the women's lacrosse team bolstered its strong divisional resume with a 10-6 road victory over Millersville.

Shippensburg (6-4, 4-2 PSAC East) scored four consecutive goals during the first half to take a 5-2 lead. Two goals from Brewer gave the Lady Raiders their first lead of the game before senior Liz DiNunno and sophomore Lauren Hauck added tallies. SU's opening goal of the game was scored by senior Gayle Kuntzmann, who on Tuesday was named the PSAC Eastern Division Player of the Week.

Brewer scored all five of Shippensburg's goals in the second half. After the Marauders got within one goal in the opening minute of the second half, she scored twice to bolster the Lady Raider advantage. Brewer, whose previous career high for goals in a game was five, took over the team's scoring lead and has 23 tallies on the season.

Freshman Lindsey Kennedy had another solid game on the attack, winning three draw controls, picking up three groundballs and causing one turnover. Kuntzmann finished with three groundballs, two draw controls and four caused turnovers. Defensively, sophomore Meghan Kearney made eight saves for the victory and also picked up five groundballs.

Shippensburg will travel on Saturday to Edinboro for a 1 p.m. crossover matchup with the Fighting Scots.
