Hauck, Schnurr Each Net Four As Lacrosse Continues Winning Ways, 19-8 Over Edinboro

SU outscores Fighting Scots 11-3 in second half to take control

EDINBORO, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's lacrosse team scored 11 goals in the second half of its PSAC crossover contest on Saturday afternoon from Sox Harrison Stadium to take control and earn an impressive victory over Edinboro, 19-8.

Shippensburg (7-4) got four goals each from sophomore Lauren Hauck and junior Karen Schnurr. Hauck came off the bench and also added two groundballs and two draw controls. Schnurr converted each of her shots on goal and had one caused turnover and one groundball.

Junior Rachael Murray and senior Gayle Kuntzmann each recorded hat tricks. Murray capped off the scoring in the final minute and also recorded four draw controls, two groundballs and one caused turnover. Kuntzmann picked up three groundballs.

Freshman Lindsey Kennedy had a stellar game on the attack with two goals, five draw controls and five groundballs. Junior Katie Brewer added two goals and two assists and leads the team with 25 tallies this season. Sophomore Jessica Schubach had SU's other tally.

Edinboro (2-10) got four goals Abbey Mackessy and nine saves from goaltender Julie McAvoy.

Shippensburg returns home at 4 p.m. Monday for a PSAC Eastern Division clash with West Chester.
