SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The Shippensburg University women's tennis team opened its spring schedule on an overcast and chilly Sunday afternoon from the Robb Sports Complex Tennis Courts by achieving a 5-4 victory over CACC opponent Chestnut Hill.

Senior #Jackie Kramer# dropped her opening set at No. 1 singles but rallied to record an impressive three-set victory over Erin Andersen, 3-6, 6-1, 6-3. Kristen Herman (Collegeville/Christopher Dock) and freshman #Cassie Sidone# recorded victories at No. 5 and No. 6 singles.

Shippensburg (2-8) built an early lead by winning two of three doubles matches. Sophomore #Hannah Lolley# and junior #Monica Berardi# earned an 8-5 decision at No. 2 doubles while senior #Ali Horvath# and Sidone teamed up for an 8-5 victory at No. 3 doubles.

The Lady Raiders will open PSAC Western Division play on Tuesday with a 4 p.m. home match against Slippery Rock.
