Day 1 Results

ALBUQUERQUE –
Senior Donnie Graybill completed a solid first day of competition in the heptathlon at the 2010 Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships from the Albuquerque Convention Center and sits in position to make a run toward All-American status on Saturday in the second day of competition.

Graybill completed the first four events in 10th place, just a few points behind Slippery Rock's Brady Wert. The two men are the only two PSAC competitors in the multis competition. Both Graybill and Wert were among the three finalists in the high jump portion of the competition, splitting the top points with current leader Darius Walker of Central Missouri.

In the long jump, Graybill had a solid jump of 21 feet, 10 inches that ranked fifth among the competitors. On Saturday, he will compete in the 60-meter hurdles, the 1,000-meter run and his specialty event – the pole vault. He is just a few points short of his PSAC championship pace in the multi copmetition that ranked him fourth in all of Division II entering the national meet.

Also on Friday, sophomore Ed Buck competed in the 800-meter run and finished the qualifying run in 11th place with a time of 1:55.83.
