SALISBURY, N.C. – The Shippensburg University softball team followed up its opening day performance with a pair of wins on Saturday afternoon at the Catawba Invitational against Davis & Elkins to take two of three games on the day.
Shippensburg (3-2) opened Saturday competition with a 3-2 win over the Senators of Davis & Elkins. Junior
Dana Ward dazzled in 6.2 innings of work in the circle to pick up her first win of the 2010 campaign. Senior
Lisamarie Ramagli belted a two-run home run to pace the Lady Raiders offensively.
Ramagli again went to work at the plate in the nightcap against the Senators, collecting four additional RBIs as the Lady Raiders notched an 8-0 victory over Davis & Elkins in five innings. Sophomore
Abby Block crushed a two-run home run of her own in the late game while Ward picked up the win.
Shippensburg dropped its mid-day game to Wayne State by a score of 3-0. Sophomore
Chelsea Kendall pitched well in the game against the Warriors but suffered the loss.
The Lady Raiders are scheduled to play at least one more game at the Catawba Invitational tomorrow.
