BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's basketball team held a one-point lead with 9:51 to play in regulation on Wednesday night from Nelson Field House but could not preserve its advantage down the stretch, dropping an 82-68 decision to Bloomsburg in a PSAC Eastern Division matchup.

Shippensburg (10-14, 3-8 PSAC East) came back from a nine-point deficit in the first half but could not stave off the Huskies in the final nine minutes. A 13-0 run for the home team proved to be too much for the Red Raiders to overcome. Redshirt sophomore guard Jordan Stasyszyn led the team in scoring for the second straight game with 11 points off the bench.

Redshirt sophomore forward Will Royal was the other Red Raider in double figures with 10 points and added five rebounds. Senior guard Brian Oleksiak had nine points and six rebounds while sophomore guard Craig Van Scyoc also had nine points but missed double digits for the first time in nine games.

Bloomsburg (11-12, 5-6 PSAC East) had no conference victories to its credit when it came to Heiges Field House in January for the previous meeting between the two teams but has now won five of its last seven games. The Huskies were paced offensively by Ruben Britt, who led all scorers with 24 points. Three other players also added double figures for Bloomsburg, who held a 43-26 advantage in rebounds.

Shippensburg will return home Saturday for a 3 p.m. tipoff against No. 16 Kutztown. The team will hold its annual alumni game following the contest.
