GREEN BAY, Wisc. - Shippensburg University football alum John Kuhn '04 scored three touchdowns for the Green Bay Packers on Sunday afternoon in front of a national television audience as the former Red Raider standout helped his team to a 45-17 victory over the New York Giants from Lambeau Field.

With the crowd chanting his name each time the Packers entered the red zone, Kuhn delivered a career performance. Green Bay entered halftime with a 21-14 lead after Kuhn took a handoff on a third-and-2 play and scored an 8-yard touchdown.

In the fourth quarter, Kuhn caught a 5-yard screen pass from quarterback Aaron Rodgers and celebrated with a trademark Lambeau Leap. Less than three minutes later, Kuhn plunged in from one yard out to cap off his career day. He had six rushes and two receptions; totaling 29 all-purpose yards.

Last week, Kuhn had six rushes for 21 yards and three catches for 27 yards with one touchdown against the New England Patriots on NBC's Sunday Night Football. This season, Kuhn has 281 rushing yards, 90 receiving yards and six touchdowns in addition to serving as a regular on punt and kickoff coverage.

Kuhn finished his collegiate career at Shippensburg with 4,685 rushing yards, 910 carries, 53 touchdowns, 5,300 all-purpose yards and 26 games with at least 100 yards rushing: all school records. He was named PSAC Western Division Offensive Player of the Year in 2003 and was a three-time All-PSAC Western Division First Team selection.

Kuhn was also a three-time All-American and was selected to play in the 2005 Whataburger Cactus Bowl. A two-time ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America First-Team honoree and PSAC Fall Top 10 Award winner, Kuhn graduated in December 2004 with a degree in chemistry and 3.3 grade point average.

Coach Mike McCarthy on Kuhn: "Well, when we have a red-zone meeting, we don't sit there and talk about John Kuhn, but I think our fans think we do. I'm a little nervous about that. He's put together two outstanding football games. John is one of the veteran leaders on our team. He's a tough guy, he's a detailed guy, he's a smart guy. He knows what to do when you put him in position to be successful. He had three touchdowns today, that's outstanding."
