SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's soccer team recorded its third shutout of the season and won its third match out of the last four on Saturday afternoon from David See Field by out-shooting Concord by a 33-8 margin en route to a 3-0 victory over the Mountain Lions.
Shippensburg (5-5, 1-3) PSAC) scored just fifty seconds into the contest when senior Miles Harringer found the net for the fifth time this season off an assist from
MIchael Celius. Just 41 seconds into the second half, sophomore
Bill Heatherly scored his first goal of the season to give SU a 2-0 advantage. Junior
Jeremy Taylor was credited with an assist on the play.
Celius widened the gap to 3-0 with a goal of his own late in the contest off an assist from sophomore
Joe Nixon. The Red Raiders out-shot Concord 18-2 in the first period while notching a 15-6 advantage in shots in the second period.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Clay Sale did not allow a goal and made five saves in the victory.
Shippensburg gets back into PSAC play at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday with a showdown against East Stroudsburg.
