SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -
The Shippensburg University football team will begin a stretch of three consecutive home games Saturday at 1 p.m. from SU Student Association Field at Seth Grove Stadium against one of its PSAC Eastern Division rivals - No. 20 Bloomsburg. SU is seeking its 400th victory as a NCAA institution. The Red Raiders won last year's meeting on the road in thrilling fashion, 28-27, at a time when Bloomsburg was ranked No. 3 in Division II.

The game is being broadcast live on Shippensburg University's student radio station, WSYC 88.7 FM and on the internet at www.wsyc.org (radio pre-game starts at 12:50 p.m.). A live video stream courtesy of Shippensburg University Television (SUTV) can be accessed on the internet here. The SUTV feed will also be available on Comcast's community-access channel 21 and on campus channel 82.

Last week, Shippensburg played its longest (first multiple-overtime) game in school history on Thursday night but lost in heart-breaking fashion at West Chester, 44-43. Despite scoring its most points against the Golden Rams since 2002, SU has lost three-in-a-row after earning its first victory of the season at Clarion in Week 3.

• SU ran for a season-high 214 rushing yards in its last game, converted 10-of-17 third-down opportunities and ran the ball 56 times - the most in one game since October 2005. Sophomore Mike Frenette had a career-high 109 receiving yards, split end Bryan Barley caught a career-long 60-yard touchdown and fullback Pat Schuhl scored his first career rushing touchdown. Sophomore Steven Adams completed 16-of-27 passes for a career-high 298 yards and two touchdowns in the contest.

• Red Raider senior tailback Kevin Marshall has been one of the team's most valuable offensive players through six games. Marshall leads the Red Raiders with 333 rushing yards and five touchdowns in addition to having a team-high 18 receptions for 270 yards and a touchdown.

• Last week, Marshall totaled 246 all-purpose yards, bringing his season total to 913. He has now moved into third place on the school's career all-purpose yards list (3,887), surpassing Dave Brown '01, Mike Erlandson '99 and Jamie Ware '99. He needs 186 all-purpose to move past Winston Horshaw into second on SU's all-time list.

• The Red Raiders are looking to maintain some impressive streaks on the offensive side of the ball, having scored two or more touchdowns in 20 straight contests. SU has also recorded at least one rushing touchdown in 10 straight games. Overall, Shippensburg has reached paydirt 13 times this season on the ground and is averaging 162.0 rushing yards per game.

• When Shippensburg has success through the air, odds are that one of the team's pass completions will go for a big gain. The Red Raiders have had at least one pass completion of 25 yards or more in 38 consecutive games, including touchdown passes this season of 35, 41, 44 and 50 yards.

• The Wing-T establishes a strong tempo in the run game. SU has run the ball at least 25 times in 30 straight games and helped the Red Raiders lead the PSAC last season in time of possession. Shippensburg has totaled 300 or more yards of total offense in every game this season.
