SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The Shippensburg University women's tennis team swept all three doubles matches on Thursday afternoon from the Robb Sports Complex Tennis Courts but sophomore
Hannah Lolley was the only player to win a singles match, as the Lady Raiders dropped a 5-4 decision to Georgian Court.
Senior
Jackie Kramer and junior
Jess Lodek won the No. 1 doubles match 8-5, while Lolley and sophomore
Monica Berardi won No. 2 doubles, 8-6. Senior
Ali Horvath and freshman
Cassie Sidone earned an 8-5 victory at No. 3 doubles.
Lolley cruised to a 6-2 victory in her first set and held off some late advances from her opponent to record a 7-5 victory in the second set. She continues to work hard and play well for the Lady Raiders.
Lodek's match was the last of the afternoon and the junior came close to winning the tiebreaker, but her opponent recorded three consecutive points to take the match. Kramer played to a tiebreaker in the first set but couldn't quite hold on.
