SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The Shippensburg women's tennis team continued its fall schedule on Friday afternoon from Robb Sports Complex against PSAC East opponent Millersville but dropped a 7-2 decision to the Marauders. Sophomore
Hannah Lolley fought hard for SU to win at No. 4 singles, 6-3, 6-1.
Shippensburg (1-2) also earned a victory at No. 3 doubles, as senior
Ali Horvath and freshman
Cassie Sidone went into extras but earned a 9-7 victory. The same duo performed admirably in a contest last weekend against Goldey-Beacom.
Sophomore
Monica Berardi had an outstanding match at No. 5 singles with Michelle DeStefano, but fell short in a super-tiebreaker. After dropping the opening set, Berardi rallied to take the second set 6-2 but lost the tiebreaker by a 10-7 margin.
Shippensburg returns to action tomorrow for an afternoon match at Kutztown.
