Mariah Wooters each scored twice for the Lady Raider field hockey team on Sunday afternoon from Robb Sports Complex as Shippensburg won its second game of the season, 7-0 over St. Michael's.
Shippensburg (2-0) stymied the Purple Knights offensively while collecting 26 shots and totaling 17 penalty corners. The Lady Raiders held a 2-0 lead at halftime before scoring five second-half tallies to provide the final margin of victory.
Senior
Jamie Doughty assisted on a goal by freshman
Sam Langone to conclude the first-half scoring before opening the second half with a goal at 38:03. Senior
Lauren Hollingsworth assisted on the goal and added another helper on the second goal by Wooters at 51:45.
Sandwiched in between those tallies were the two goals by Taylor, who scored at 42:05 off an assist from senior
Laura Wylde and unassisted at 50:23. Freshman
Jordyn Beam concluded the scoring at 62:42.
Senior
Amanda Houser was not forced to make a save while earning her second victory of the season. Sophomore
Alyssa Stefanadis relieved Houser and patrolled the cage for the final seven-plus minutes.
Shippensburg will return to action on Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m. from East Stroudsburg in a contest against the Warriors.
