SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The Shippensburg men's soccer team allowed an early goal and faced adversity throughout the opening half on Friday night from David See Field as No. 24 Ashland established momentum and earned a 2-0 victory in the second game of the 2009 Red Raider Classic.

Shippensburg (0-2) totaled two corner kicks and recorded a couple of solid chances in the contest but the visitors struck in the third minute on a goal by James Livingston. Freshman Clay Sale was solid in between the pipes with three saves and kept the halftime margin to one goal.

Ashland (1-0) extended its lead in the second half with a goal by Ross Ashley during the 59th minute. Freshman Andrew Foran was the keeper in the second half and also made two point-blank saves for the Red Raiders.
