SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The Shippensburg University men's soccer team has been forced to adjust its schedule and will now open the season on Thursday night from David See Field with an 8 p.m. contest against Slippery Rock. Both teams were affected by the departure of Salem International from the season-opening tournament.

Shippensburg had scheduled a men's soccer tournament to kick off the 2009 season on Friday that would have pitted Slippery Rock and Salem International against one another. The Raiders were supposed to play Salem International on Sunday, so the two teams have agreed to face one another in order to make up for the lost game. 

The other two games scheduled for the tournament will be held as scheduled. Shippensburg will still host Ashland on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. while Slippery Rock will face Ashland on Sunday at 2 p.m.
