SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The Shippensburg University women's lacrosse team will team up with visiting IUP on Saturday to participate in “Lax 4 Life” on Saturday, April 11 when the two Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference squads face off from Robb Sports Complex at 1 p.m.

“Lax 4 Life” is a foundation that deals with adolescent suicide prevention. Proceeds raised at the lacrosse game on Saturday will go towards the Allyson Fund that was started two years ago after Allyson Green, younger sister to West Chester University goalkeeper Mary Beth Green, committed suicide.

Both schools will wear “Lax 4 Life” T-shirts in pregame warm-ups and have a collective photo taken to commemorate the occasion. Additionally, a collection will be taken up in the stands to help raise money for this worthy cause.

“We are so fortunate that athletics gives us the opportunity to help foster awareness for issues like adolescent suicide prevention,” Shippensburg head lacrosse coach Naomi Radio said. “This is a subject that doesn't get talked about a whole lot but is one that touches so many lives.”

During two PSAC games this season (one home, one away) participating schools will wear their T-shirts, pose for a photo and hand out pamphlets, along with taking donations.
