DENVER, Col. - The Shippensburg University lacrosse team opened its 2009 regular season on Wednesday afternoon from Colorado with a defensive contest against the Rangers of Regis University but dropped a 6-4 decision.
Shippensburg (0-1) trailed 4-2 at halftime but quickly fought back to tie the game at 4-4 in the second half. Senior
Beth Long had two goals for the Lady Raiders in the contest, and junior
Gayle Kuntzmann assisted on one of those tallies.

The Lady Raiders will continue its three-game road trip with a match against St. Andrew's Presbyterian College on Thursday at 5 p.m.
