Gayle Kuntzmann recorded a natural hat trick in the final 10 minutes of play on Thursday afternoon from Whitenight Field and freshman
Meghan Kearney made 12 saves to help the Shippensburg women's lacrosse team rally for a 13-12 victory over East Stroudsburg.
Shippensburg (5-4, 2-2 PSAC East), who competed in its third one-goal game of the season, trailed the Warriors by one goal with 10:13 to play. Kuntzmann responded with two goals in a 14-second span to give the Lady Raiders their first lead of the game and added another goal with 6:47 remaining that proved to be the game-winner.
East Stroudsburg (3-5, 2-2 PSAC East) raced out to a 4-0 lead in the contest after just minutes but Shippensburg countered with four goals of its own to tie the score midway through the first half. The Warriors countered with four more goals over the final six minutes of the half to lead at intermission, 8-6.
The Lady Raiders rallied with three of the first four goals of the second half to tie the score at 9-9. The teams continued to exchange goals until Kuntzmann's scoring barrage in the final 10 minutes. ESU's Michelle Mangiaruga scored with 6:30 remaining to bring the Warriors within one goal but Shippensburg hunkered down and ran out the clock for the victory.
Kuntzmann had yet another spectacular all-around performance with five goals, five groundballs, three draw controls and two caused turnovers. Senior

Sandy Sigel each netted two goals for the Lady Raiders to complement the offensive production.

Beth Long had another splendid game with a goal, three draw controls and three groundballs while junior
Liz DiNunno won four draw controls and picked up two groundballs. Shippensburg recorded a 14-13 advantage in draw controls against ESU on Thursday after Bloomsburg held a 22-11 advantage over the Lady Raiders on Monday.

Shippensburg will head home for a night's rest before traveling all the way to Erie to take on Gannon this Saturday. The opening draw is set for 1 p.m.
