Box Score

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Junior forward Lauren Beckley posted her ninth double-double in 11 conference games this season with 25 points and a career-high 19 rebounds but the Lady Raiders shot just 28 percent from the field in a 62-58 loss to Bloomsburg from Heiges Field House.

Shippensburg (11-13, 5-6 PSAC East) started strong and held a 16-10 lead over the first 10 minutes of play but the Huskies fought back to tie the score at 20-20 with 6:33 left in the first half and closed on a 10-3 run to lead by seven points at intermission.

Bloomsburg (10-14, 2-9 PSAC East) stretched its lead to 10 points with 15:52 to play but a 23-7 Lady Raider run gave Shippensburg a 47-41 lead with 7:11 to play. An 8-0 Husky run gave the lead back to Bloomsburg but ultimately the score would become tied for the ninth time, 57-57, with 1:29 to play.

After two free throws from Beckley and a Shippensburg timeout, Bloomsburg's Colleen Kegerreis snuck free and converted what proved to be the game-winning lay-up that gave Bloomsburg the lead with 1:01 to go. Beckley had a shot rim out, and an SU foul made the contest an insurmountable two-possession deficit.

Beckley remained the PSAC's active leader in double-doubles with her 15th this season. She combined with senior guard Elise Mercer for 41 of the team's 58 points and the duo converted 18-of-24 attempts from the free-throw line.

Shippensburg returns to action on Saturday at Kutztown for a crucial PSAC Eastern Division match with the Golden Bears. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m.
