SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The Shippensburg men's basketball team compiled its most rebounds in a game under head coach Dave Springer as the Raiders grabbed 59 boards and closed the game on a 9-2 run over the final four minutes in a 64-55 victory over Bloomsburg on Senior Night from Heiges Field House.

Shippensburg (12-12, 4-7 PSAC East) received an outstanding performance from red-shirt junior center Derrick Graff, who had 19 points and a career-high 19 rebounds for his sixth double-double of the season. Graff had his double-double in the first half with 12 points and 13 rebounds at intermission.

Graff's performance was the best individual rebounding performance for Shippensburg in 12 years. On Jan. 4, 1997, Raider standout Wayne Morris '99 had 19 points and 19 rebounds in an 86-60 victory over Kutztown.

Bloomsburg (4-20, 1-10 PSAC East), who got 20 points from Ruben Britt, trailed by 11 points early in the second half but got hot in a hurry with a 10-0 run that brought the score to 37-36 with 14:08 to play. The Huskies took the lead at the 11:16 mark and built a three-point advantage with six minutes left.

Sophomore Justin Minter was the key to Shippensburg's comeback as he hit a layup with six minutes to go that brought the Raiders within one and then drained back-to-back three pointers to give his team a five-point advantage with 4:19 remaining.

Minter finished with 16 points and three steals, while Graff had five blocks. Graduate guard Ryan Kraft finished with nine points and four assists and was honored in pre-game ceremonies along with senior Brett Malikowski.

Wednesday night's performance marked the most rebounds in a game for Shippensburg in a 375-game span. On Nov. 27, 1995, the Red Raiders had 60 rebounds in a 97-93 triple-overtime loss to Pittsburgh-Johnstown. In that game, Kevin Lee had 44 points and 21 rebounds while current Raider assistant coach Mike Nestor had 11 points, six rebounds and four assists.

Shippensburg returns to action on Saturday at Kutztown, the top team in the Eastern Division. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
