NEW CASTLE, Del. - Redshirt freshman guard Lamar Jackson led all scorers on Tuesday night from Pratt Gymnasium with 16 points as the Red Raider basketball team totaled 42 rebounds and won its fourth straight game with a convincing 63-53 road victory over Wilmington (Del.).

Shippensburg (4-0) took control of the contest midway through the first half, erasing a seven-point deficit with a 21-2 run over the final eight minutes of the frame to hold a 35-20 lead at intermission. During the run, SU got scoring contributions from six different players while the defense stymied the Wildcats by forcing six turnovers and limiting them to 1-of-9 shooting from the field.

The rebounding advantage was a significant factor in Shippensburg's success. The Red Raiders out-rebounded Wilmington by 16 total boards and recorded 15 offensive rebounds in the contest to just three for the Wildcats. The Red Raiders had 14 second-chance points while holding the home team scoreless on its second-chance opportunities.

The forward tandem of seniors Tariek Belcher and Daziah Miller combined for 22 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, two blocks and two steals. Miller was just one rebound short of a double-double. Jackson added five steals and two rebounds in addition to his offensive production.

Senior forward Brian Oleksiak had another stellar all-around performance, grabbing a game-high 12 rebounds while contributing seven points and three steals in 38 minutes. Sophomore guard Craig Van Scyoc added five points, eight rebounds and two steals in just 16 minutes off the bench.

The Red Raiders led by as many as 19 points in the second half. SU used just nine players in the contest but all of them played at least 10 minutes and had at least two points.

Shippensburg will return to action at 7 p.m. Monday against Goldey-Beacom from Heiges Field House.
