Lauren Beckley scored 30 points and junior forward
Kasey Gardner added 22 while the Lady Raiders shot 51 percent from the field and forced 24 turnovers in an impressive 72-63 victory over Shepherd in the team's home opener.
Shippensburg (2-2) came out strong following the first media timeout of the game, building on a two-point lead with a 16-4 run over the next seven minutes of play to lead 28-14 at the second media timeout of the first half. The Lady Raiders led by as many as 20 points during the second half.
Beckley was cold from the field in the first half but got stronger as the game progressed and was solid all-around. She was 7-of-10 from the field in the second half and finished the game with nine rebounds, three assists, three blocks and three steals in 35 minutes of action.
Gardner entered the game as the team's leading scorer through three contests and continued her strong play with an impressive 10-of-14 performance from the field. She also contributed four rebounds, two assists and two blocks.

Kerry Conroy maintained her integral role as a starter for the Lady Raiders with nine points and a team-high nine rebounds while shooting 4-of-6 from the field. Freshman guard

Shippensburg returns to action on Tuesday, November 24 with a 6 p.m. matchup against Philadelphia University.
