SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The Shippensburg University men's swimming team opened its 2009-10 season on Saturday afternoon with a meet from Donald N. Miller Pool but dropped a competitive decision to West Chester. The score of the meet ended 109.5-90.

Senior Shane Wolter dominated the 1,000-yard freestyle, winning by 14 seconds with a time of 10:02.15. He also aced the 500-yard freestyle, winning by over three seconds with a time of 4:53.91.

The Raider swimmers will return to action at noon on Sunday, October 18 with a home meet against Drexel.
