BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – Redshirt freshman Michael Celius became the first Red Raider to score multiple goals in a game this season but the Shippensburg University men's soccer team dropped a 4-2 PSAC Eastern Division decision on Saturday afternoon at rainy Sports Stadium.

Shippensburg (1-11-4, 0-5-2 PSAC East) allowed two early goals in the first half before Celius found the net with less than three minutes to play in the half. In the second half, Bloomsburg's Eric Simonds netted the game winner at the 52:19 mark off a penalty shot.

Celius netted his second goal of the game at the 77:27 mark off an assist from junior Scott Smith to bring the Red Raiders back within a goal, but Shippensburg could not mount a comeback. Celius' final goal marks his third scoring strike of the season.

Bloomsburg (9-5-2, 4-2-1 PSAC East) and Shippensburg finished the game even in shot on goal at 11 aside. Freshman goalkeeper Andrew Foran contributed two saves in the Red Raider effort while fellow freshman Clay Sale added a save in the second half.

Shippensburg returns to the pitch at David See Field Tuesday for a 2 p.m. contest with the Senators of Davis and Elkins.
