EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. - The Shippensburg University men's soccer team scored multiple goals for the second time in its last three contests on Tuesday evening from Eiler-Martin Stadium but the Red Raiders could not preserve a second-half lead, dropping a 3-2 road decision to divisional foe East Stroudsburg.

Shippensburg (1-10-4, 0-4-2 PSAC East) fell behind in the fourth minute after an own goal but rallied to tie the score in the 36th minute on the first goal of the season by junior Scott Smith, who evened the match on just his second shot on goal of the campaign. The Red Raiders played right with the Warriors through the first half, earning a 6-5 advantage in shots at the intermission.

East Stroudsburg (8-7-1, 2-3-1 PSAC East) fired a shot off the post in the 65th minute but the Red Raider attack was undaunted and took a 2-1 lead in the 77th minute when redshirt freshman Deon Rehm scored his second goal of the season. Less than three minutes after his strike, ESU forward Toric Robinson converted a penalty kick that ties the score at 2-2.

With just 4:12 remaining in the contest, Warrior forward Trevor Kelley sent home a shot off an assist from Michael Kane that gave East Stroudsburg the decisive tally. The goal came three seconds after a shot from Robinson was blocked as the Warriors were crashing the net.

Defensively, freshman goalkeeper Clay Sale made five saves in the loss.

Shippensburg returns to action on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. from Bloomsburg with a PSAC Eastern Division match against the Huskies. The two teams played to a 1-1 tie earlier this season.
