LAURINBURG, N.C. - Junior Jon Hade won all four of his matches on Saturday afternoon while red-shirt sophomore Chris Barrick won three of his four matches as the No. 16-ranked Shippensburg wrestling squad competed at the Domino's Pizza East Coast Duals hosted by St. Andrew's Presbyterian College.

Shippensburg (6-3-1) opened the morning with a decisive 34-9 victory over UNC-Pembroke that included pins for freshman Tom Wiechelt and red-shirt junior Nate Nauroth. Barrick and Hade earned major decisions in the dual meet, while senior Jake Wilson won his dual via technical fall.

The Raiders, who competed Saturday in four dual meets over an eight-hour time span, followed UNC-Pembroke with their toughest opponent to date this season in No. 2 Newberry, who entered with a 17-2 dual meet record. Hade earned a sudden victory in double overtime and Barrick recorded a 10-3 decision, but two injury defaults led to a 29-12 loss for Shippensburg, its first of the season.

The third match was a contest between the Raiders, ranked No. 4 in the East Region, and No. 10 Mercyhurst, a squad ranked No. 3 in the East Region. Wrestling up one weight class due to an injury at heavyweight, Barrick won via technical fall at 184 and Hade recorded a 6-4 decision at 197. Wiechelt earned a 9-6 decision and red-shirt junior Nathan Reese stepped in for a 6-4 victory at 174, but the Raiders fell to the Lakers by a 21-14 score.

Limestone (4-8) surprised Shippensburg in the final dual meet of the day and raced out to a 25-0 lead after three pins and a major decision through the first five matches. Hade, Wilson and freshman Taylor Knight earned decisions but the Raiders closed the day with a 34-9 defeat.    

Shippensburg is back in action on Tuesday night at Delaware Valley. The dual meet is set to begin at 7:30 p.m.
