MILLERSVILLE, Pa. -
The Shippensburg women's basketball team got another double-digit scoring effort from junior forward Lauren Beckley on Wednesday night at Pucillo Gymnasium but could not overcome a feisty Millersville squad, dropping a 72-53 decision to the Marauders that ended a two-game winning streak.

Shippensburg (8-8, 2-1 PSAC East) led once in the contest, a 9-8 margin just five minutes into the contest. However, the Marauders immediately countered that deficit with a 12-0 run over the next four minutes to lead by 11 points, 20-9 at the 10:33 mark. The Lady Raiders trailed by 12 points at halftime and never got closer than seven points in the second half.

Beckley finished with a team-high 17 points and eight rebounds for Shippensburg in her fourth consecutive double-digit scoring performance. Sophomore forward Kasey Gardner was the other Lady Raider in double figures on Wednesday with 11 points and four assists.

Millersville (12-4, 1-2 PSAC East) received a key performance from Aiesha Bellamy, whose career-high 17 points on 8-of-13 shooting was a difference in the game. Jenna Craig played staunch defense against Beckley and finished with eight points, 13 rebounds, two steals and two blocks in 29 minutes.

Shippensburg will return to action on Saturday, January 24 for a PSAC Eastern Division contest with Kutztown from Heiges Field House. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m.
