BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - The Shippensburg women's soccer team dropped its first conference game of the season with a tough 1-0 road loss on Saturday afternoon at Bloomsburg. The Lady Raiders out-shot the Huskies 10-7 but could not come up with the decisive strike in a game that was played amidst a steady downpour.

Shippensburg (3-1, 1-1 PSAC East) fired eight shots on goal in the game, including three from junior Rachel Jeffrey and two from sophomore Amanda Greenawalt. Senior goalkeeper Beth Long made one save and had her season-opening shutout streak end at 370:54.

Bloomsburg (2-0, 1-0 PSAC East) earned the victory with a goal from Kelly Modes in the 84th minute. Francis Nicoletti made seven saves for the shutout.

The Lady Raiders will host East Stroudsburg on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in another PSAC Eastern Division matchup at David See Field.
