Box Score

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -
Sophomore Amanda Greenawalt collected a through ball from fellow sophomore Lisa FIndley in the 108th minute, found some space and sent a shot over the outstretched arms of Kutztown's Steph Addleman to give the Lady Raiders a 1-0 double overtime victory on Wednesday night at David See Field.

Shippensburg (3-0, 1-0 PSAC East) has now held opponents scoreless through its first three games of the season while totaling four goals of its own. The Lady Raiders were once again in total control of their opponent, out-shooting the Golden Bears 26-4 (including a 6-0 margin in the overtime periods) and totaling eight corner kicks.

Kutztown (0-2, 0-1 PSAC East) entered the game having been unbeaten in its last seven meetings with Shippensburg. Wednesday's victory marks the first Lady Raider win over Kutztown since a 1-0 home decision on Oct. 23, 2004.

The Lady Raiders fired nine shots on goal against Addleman, but the decisive strike from Greenawalt came with less than three minutes to play in the game. It is the first overtime game-winner for Shippensburg since Sept. 6, 2007 when the Lady Raiders upset then No.3 West Chester 1-0 at David See Field to end a 42-match regular season losing streak for the Golden Rams.

Defensively, senior Beth Long was not tested often, but she did make two very important diving stops to maintain a scoreless tie at the half. Long has now kept opponent scoreless through the first 287 minutes of play this season.

The Lady Raiders will travel on Saturday to Bloomsburg for a 1 p.m. matchup with the Huskies.
