Gayle Kuntzmann netted two goals and recorded an assist to help propel the Lady Raiders to a 3-1 road victory on Saturday afternoon over the Millersville Marauders on Chryst Field at Biemesderfer Stadium. Sophomore
Alison Dowdrick also scored goal for Shippensburg.
Shippensburg (8-3, 3-2 PSAC East) recorded a 19-4 advantage in shots and a 9-2 advantage in corner kicks over Millersville (4-6, 1-4 PSAC East) to earn its second consecutive victory overall and third in conference play this season to cap off a six-game road trip.
Kuntzmann opened the scoring in the 22nd minute by tapping in a cross from sophomore
Amanda Greenawalt. Her second goal came in the 33rd minute and proved to be the game-winner, as Kuntzmann ripped home a rebound off a penalty kick. Dowdrick's clincher came in the 73rd minute off a pass from Kuntzmann that she ripped far post.
Senior
Beth Long made one save for her eighth victory of the season and the first for Shippensburg in which it did not shut out its opponent.
The team will finally return to David See Field for a huge conference match with West Chester on Wednesday that is set to begin at 7 p.m. The Golden Rams are 5-0 in conference play and a perfect 7-0 this season.
