Shippensburg (6-3) entered the contest ranked sixth in the NSCAA Atlantic Region, while Gannon (5-1) was ranked seventh. The Lady Raiders could not sustain an offensive attack, however, recording just six shots in the game and only two on goal.
The Knights opened the scoring at 34:33 of the first half and maintained an efficient defense for the duration of the contest. Gannon held a 12-2 advantage in corner kicks and would add a goal in the second half on one of its 10 corners in the final 45 minutes of play.
Shippensburg continues its season-long six-game road trip on Tuesday at 2 p.m. with a contest against Pittsburgh-Johnstown.
