Shippensburg (3-1, 0-1 PSAC West) faced an offensive onslaught in the first half yet kept the Crimson Hawks at bay until the final minutes of the opening stanza. Houser was able to stop a penalty stroke attempt from IUP's Sylvia Guerrieri midway through the first, but sophomore Irma Bakker scored with 5:04 remaining in the half to give the Crimson Hawks a 1-0 lead.
Indiana (4-0, 2-0 PSAC West) was able to extend its lead with just 85 seconds remaining in the half as sophomore Jess Frantz found the cage for the first time this season, with the assist going to Guerrieri.
The Lady Raiders earned five penalty corners in the second half and recorded three shots, connecting for its goal with 10:14 to play. Taylor's goal off an assist from senior
Kim Davies brought Shippensburg within one goal but the squad could not creep any closer before the final whistle.
Shippensburg will look to rebound when it continues its PSAC Western Division schedule at noon on Saturday with a match against Mansfield from Robb Sports Complex.
