SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Junior forward Gayle Kuntzmann netted her second game-winning goal of the season while senior keeper Beth Long recorded her second shutout in as many games to propel the Lady Raider soccer team to a 2-0 victory over the University of Charleston on Sunday afternoon at David See Field.

Shippensburg (2-0) got on the scoreboard in the 12th minute, as sophomore Lisa Findley sent a solid through ball into the box that found Kuntzmann's right foot to give the Lady Raiders the lead.

Findley also had a hand in the second goal of the game, as her corner kick in the 52nd minute ricocheted off a Golden Eagle defender and onto the foot of sophomore Alison Dowdrick, who ripped a wicked volley into the upper ninety that solidified Shippensburg's lead.

The Lady Raiders were in total control of Sunday's match, outshooting Charleston 23-5 while recording nine corner kicks. Through two games this season, Shippensburg has totaled a 16-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Charleston (0-1) goalkeeper Whitney Sharp recorded 11 saves in the defeat. Long made four saves to record the 12th shutout of her career.

Shippensburg will open PSAC Eastern Division play on Wednesday when it hosts Kutztown in a 4:30 p.m. match at David See Field.
