INDIANA, Pa. - The Shippensburg women's lacrosse team put together its most complete effort of the season, dominating the pace of the game on Saturday afternoon at Miller Stadium and defeating the Crimson Hawks, 15-9.
Shippensburg (3-8, 3-6 PSAC) had solid performances throughout the lineup, as every Lady Raider on the roster made an appearance in the game. Offensively, sophomore
Liz DiNunno led all scorers with career highs in goals (five) and points (seven).
In the midfield, senior
Katie Irwin had an all-around excellent performance, scoring three goals, recording three groundballs, causing five turnovers and grabbing four draw controls.
Defensively, junior
Beth Long had a team-high seven groundballs, caused four turnovers and recorded three groundballs. In net, sophomore
Brooke Miller made 12 saves.
Shippensburg swept the season series against IUP and totaled 27 goals in two games. DiNunno netted seven goals against the Crimson Hawks through the two games this season, while Irwin totaled five.
The Lady Raiders will rest overnight but will be back in action tomorrow in Erie to take on the Lakers of Mercyhurst. Game time is 1 p.m.
