ERIE, Pa. - Following the Christmas holiday, the Shippensburg men's basketball team will travel to Erie for competition in the 35th annual Porreco Cup hosted by Gannon University on Monday, December 29 and Tuesday, December 30.

On Monday, Shippensburg will take on Seton Hill at 6 p.m., while Gannon will host Caldwell at 8 p.m. The consolation game of the tournament will be hald at 6 p.m. on Tuesday with the championship game slated for 8 p.m.

The Porreco Cup is Gannon University's annual Christmas tournament. It began in 1967 and was re-named in 1974 to honor the tournament's sponsor,  Lou Porreco. Gannon has won the tournament 20 times, including 12 times in the last 15 years.

If Shippensburg advances to play Gannon, it will be the first meeting between the two teams since the 2000-01 season, when the Knights defeated Shippensburg in the Porreco Cup by an 86-71 margin.
