No. 15 Women's Basketball Stuggles In Second Half; Drops 75-66 Decision To Seton Hill

Beckley scores 38 points; SU suffers first loss of season

Junior Lauren Beckley totaled 38 points and 13 rebounds on Thursday night inside Salvitti Gymnasium but the Shippensburg women's basketball team struggled in the second half and suffered its first loss of the season, 75-66 to Seton Hill.

Shippensburg (5-1) went into the locker room with a 32-30 halftime lead after a virtuoso first-half performance from Beckley, who racked up 22 points and seven rebounds through the first 20 minutes of play.In her last two games against Seton Hill, Beckley has now totaled 65 points and 23 rebounds.

Seton Hill (4-3) scored 45 points in the second half and received strong performances from Jordan Burkes and Katie Lintner. Burkes finished with 21 points on 9-of-13 shooting, while Lintner scored all 19 of her points in the second half and also finished with 17 rebounds.

The Griffins trailed by three points with 13:35 to play but then embarked on 12-0 run over the next two minutes from which Shippensburg could not recover.

The Lady Raiders return to action on Saturday with a home contest against Fairmont State. Tip-off from Heiges Field House is set for 2 p.m.
