SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The Shippensburg University field hockey team has now scored two of the three goals allowed by the No. 1-ranked Crimson Hawks of IUP this season, but the Lady Raiders have not been able to crack the win column against their PSAC Western Division rivals.

Shippensburg (10-3, 3-2 PSAC West) dropped a 3-1 decision to the Crimson Hawks on Wednesday afternoon at Robb Sports Complex. Senior Natalie Faith led a late charge with her second goal of the season off an assist from freshman Katie Pufnock at the 63:56 mark but it was not enough to earn the victory.

Indiana (11-0, 6-0 PSAC West) received a strong performance from Brittany Owens, who caged the game-winner and assisted on the other two Crimson Hawk goals. Her assist on Jess Frantz's goal with 2:53 to play in the first half opened the scoring and IUP would not relinquish the lead in the contest.

The Lady Raiders were able to record 10 penalty corners in the contest but could not score a goal during those chances. Junior Lydia Dolly earned the victory for IUP but was denied a shutout thanks to Faith's goal. Shippensburg is the only opponent to not be shutout this season by the Crimson Hawks.

Shippensburg returns to action at C.W. Post on Saturday morning for an 11 a.m. match with the Pioneers.
