ABOUT THE GAME

The Red Raiders are looking to improve to 2-1 in the PSAC Eastern Division. The last meeting coming 25 years ago when Vito Ragazzo's Red Raider squad earned a 40-27 victory over the Pioneers on Sept. 17, 1983. Shippensburg also won a 49-35 decision over the Pioneers in New York on Oct. 24, 1981.

Last weekend, Shippensburg totaled a season-high 498 yards of offense on Saturday afternoon at Seth Grove Stadium and red-shirt sophomore Kevin Marshall totaled over 250 all-purpose yards for the second consecutive week as the Red Raiders earned their first PSAC Eastern Division victory of the season, 35-14 over Millersville. C.W. Post was picked fifth in the preseason PSAC Eastern Division Coaches Poll, one spot behind Shippensburg. The team returns 12 starters, including six on defense. The Pioneers had been a constant force in the Northeast-10 conference, posting an 11-year record of 90-32 in conference matchups. Veteran signal caller Nick Georgetti returns after ranking second in the NE-10 last season in pass efficiency and throwing for 2,000 yards. Fullback Anthoney Adamic is another solid offensive player who returns after rushing for 268 yards in the season finale last season.

Last week, sophomore tailback Jason Gwaltney rushed for 133 yards and rushed in a nine-yard touchdown in the third quarter but No. 10 Bloomsburg University held on to win, 13-6, during Saturday afternoon Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference football action on Hickox Field.
