SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The Shippensburg women's soccer team battled to a 0-0 tie against visiting Millersville on Saturday afternoon on Senior Day at David See Field. The Lady Raiders remain one point behind East Stroudsburg for the fourth and final playoff spot in the PSAC Eastern Division, as the Warriors tied West Chester 1-1.

Shippensburg (10-7-1, 4-6-1 PSAC East) honored seniors Beth Long, Kristen Mack and Kellye Von Stetten at halftime. The senior class has been a part of 33 victories since 2005 while also making the team's second PSAC Tournament appearance in school history. Mack made her first career start on Saturday and made her sixth career appearance.

Long made 10 saves on Saturday, including two stops on breakaways, to break the school record for shutouts in a season (10). She broke the record of nine that was originally set by Meredith Yakscoe-Markle '06 as a freshman in 2002.

For her career, Long has 20 shutouts in 55 career games while making 362 career saves. Yakscoe-Markle currently holds the school records for career shutouts (23) and saves (388).

Von Stetten is the most experienced player on the team, having appeared in 74 games since the 2005 season. She is one of the team's captains and has been a consistent and versatile player for Shippensburg while patrolling the midfield this season. In her career, she has scored five goals and 11 points while starting in 53 of the team's 57 games since 2006.

The Lady Raiders out-shot the Marauders 20-11. Junior Gayle Kuntzmann and sophomore Amanda Greenawalt each fired six shots in the contest but could not find the net. Freshman Brittany Hibshmann recorded four shots.

Shippensburg will conclude its home schedule against Seton Hill next week from David See Field. The game was originally scheduled for Tuesday but has been moved to Thursday at 3 p.m. due to the Tuesday appearance by Sarah Palin at Heiges Field House.
