WEST CHESTER, Pa. - Shippensburg will take part in its second road game in as many weeks as it travels to take on PSAC Eastern Division powerhouse West Chester. Kickoff is set for 2:05 p.m. at John A. Farrell Stadium where the Golden Rams will celebrate their homecoming.
Shippensburg University football fans and supporters are being encouraged to arrive early and purchase tickets early for this weekend's football game to avoid congestion as the Red Raiders will be taking on West Chester from Farrell Stadium during homecoming festivities.
The ticket windows will also open up at 12 p.m. on Saturday, the day of the game, two hours before scheduled kickoff. Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets ahead of time and to also arrive early to avoid lines at the ticket window and traffic congestion getting to the stadium. Tickets purchased by phone can be picked up at the will call window of Farrell Stadium the day of the game.
Shippensburg (3-4, 2-2 PSAC East) has lost the last four games in the series, including a tough 34-29 loss at home last season. The Red Raiders have not garnered a victory over the Golden Rams since a 24-21 overtime decision at West Chester in the final game of the 2004 regular season.
Saturday's game is being broadcast live on Shippensburg University student radio station, WSYC 88.7 FM and on the internet at wsyc.org. Pre-game will begin at 1:55 p.m. The Shippensburg University Television (SUTV) crew will be filming game highlights to air on campus channel 75.
The Red Raiders will be vying to break even and improve to 4-4 overall and best their conference record to 3-2 in the PSAC Eastern Division. Shippensburg has won three of its last five games after starting the season 1-3.
