Beth Long made 11 saves for the Shippensburg women's soccer team and junior
Gayle Kuntzmann scored her 10th and 11th goals of the season, but a late goal from Megan Keiser resulted in a 3-2 loss for the Lady Raiders on the road Saturday night at East Stroudsburg.
Shippensburg (9-6, 3-5 PSAC East) was toe for toe with East Stroudsburg despite trailing 2-1 at halftime. Kuntzmann netted the tie-breaking goal with 5:12 to play off an assist from junior
Alison Dowdrick that brought the score even, but heartbreak struck with 1:58 to play on Keiser's late goal.
Kuntzmann scored her first goal of the game in the 20th minute to the score at 1-1. Her goal came in between first-half tallies for Warrior forward Lindsay Foder. Long made seven saves in the first half and 11 overall. In two games against the Warriors this season, Long has recorded 26 saves.
The Lady Raiders return home to take on Bloomsburg next Saturday at 5:30 p.m. from David See Field.
